Google Introduces “Nano Banana” Feature in Gemini for Personalized Image Creation

Tech giant Google has announced a new feature that allows users to connect personal photos to the “Nano Banana” tool in order to create customized images within the Gemini app. This enables users to generate creative visual content easily, without needing to manually upload or use image libraries for training AI models.

A Smart Feature for Personalizing Images in Gemini

This new addition comes after Gemini’s strong performance and its rise to the top of the Apple App Store, driven by widespread user adoption thanks to its AI-powered capabilities and integrated services.

The update reflects Google’s strategy to enhance user experience by offering more personalized and innovative tools. The feature is expected to be released soon for paid subscribers, before gradually expanding to a wider global audience.

An Experience Based on User Data and Interests

The new feature relies on generating images that reflect users’ lifestyles and interests automatically. It uses available data from Google services such as Gmail and Google Photos, eliminating the need to repeatedly enter details.

It can also include family members or friends in generated images based on tags within Google Photos, increasing the personal and realistic nature of the content.

Greater Transparency and User Control

Google stated that a “Sources” button will allow users to see which data Gemini used when generating images. Users will also be able to upload reference images or provide feedback to improve results.

The company emphasized that personal photo libraries are not used to train AI models, except for limited data such as prompts and responses.

The feature will initially roll out in the United States for subscribers of AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra plans, before expanding globally in phases. This follows the recent rollout of Google’s “personal intelligence” feature in several countries, including some Arab nations.
