Ingredients
500 g cooked beef
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons butter
2 medium onions (thinly sliced)
Salt (to taste)
Black pepper (to taste)
1/2 cup barbecue sauce (ready-made)
250 g cheese (cheddar or mozzarella, sliced or shredded)
French bread (as needed)
Instructions
Heat the oil and butter in a pan over medium heat.
Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until golden and caramelized (about 20–30 minutes). Set aside.
Slice the bread in half.
Place a layer of cheese on the bottom half, then add the cooked beef.
Spread the barbecue sauce over the beef, then add the caramelized onions and another layer of cheese.
Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
Place the sandwich on a baking tray and bake for 5–7 minutes until the cheese melts.
Remove from the oven, cut in half, and serve immediately.
