Cinnamon Rolls – Classic Sweet Treat

Cinnamon rolls are one of the most famous Western desserts, loved for their aromatic scent and rich cinnamon flavor. They feature soft, rolled dough filled with a cinnamon-sugar mixture and topped with a creamy sauce that melts in your mouth.

Preparation Time: 60 minutes
Serves: 6 people

Ingredients:

For the filling:

  • Sugar: ½ cup

  • Cinnamon: 1 tbsp

  • Butter: ¼ cup (melted)

For the cinnamon sauce:

  • Butter: ½ cup

  • Brown sugar: ½ cup

  • Milk: ¼ cup

  • Vanilla: 1 tsp

For the dough:

  • Milk: 1 cup (warm)

  • Instant yeast: 1 tsp

  • Sugar: 1 tbsp

  • Butter: ½ cup (melted)

  • Egg: 1

  • Salt: a pinch

  • Flour: 2 cups

  • Baking powder: 1 tsp

Instructions:

  1. Activate yeast: Mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar in a bowl and let sit for 5 minutes until yeast becomes active.

  2. Combine wet ingredients: Add melted butter, egg, and salt, then whisk well.

  3. Prepare dry mix: In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder.

  4. Make dough: Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until you have a soft, smooth dough.

  5. Let dough rise: Cover the dough and leave it in a warm place for 60 minutes, or until it doubles in size.

  6. Prepare the filling: Mix sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter in a bowl until smooth.

  7. Roll the dough: On a floured surface, roll out the dough, spread the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly, roll into a log, and cut into thick slices.

  8. Arrange rolls: Place the slices in a buttered baking pan, cover, and let rest for 15 minutes.

  9. Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) and bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.

  10. Make the sauce: In a saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla. Cook on low heat, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.

  11. Serve: Pour the warm sauce over the hot cinnamon rolls and serve warm or at room temperature.
