Pasta with White Sauce and Chicken

This easy and quick dish originates from Italian cuisine, making for a delicious, complete meal. It's perfect for Ramadan, and you can add extra ingredients like mushrooms or vegetables according to your preference.

Ingredients:

For the White Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • ½ cup cooking cream
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • Salt to taste
  • White pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

For the Chicken:

  • 250g chicken breast (cut into small cubes)

For the Pasta:

  • 1 pack of pasta (your preferred type)
  • Hot water (for boiling the pasta, with salt)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Preparation:

  1. In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta until it's al dente. Drain it and set it aside.

  2. In a medium-sized pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken cubes and sauté until fully cooked and golden brown. Season with salt and black pepper.

  3. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.

  4. In the same pan, melt the butter, then add the flour. Stir for about a minute until it turns golden.

  5. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming.

  6. Add the cooking cream and Parmesan cheese, stirring until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes creamy.

  7. Season the sauce with salt and white pepper to taste.

  8. Add the cooked pasta and chicken to the white sauce, stirring well to combine the ingredients.

  9. Serve the pasta with white sauce and chicken hot. Garnish with chopped parsley or extra Parmesan cheese, as desired.
