  • 7 g instant yeast

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 50 g sugar

  • ½ cup warm milk

  • 1 egg

  • 60 g soft butter

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  1. Prepare the starter:
    In a small saucepan, mix 22 g flour with water and milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring continuously for 2–3 minutes until thick. Let it cool.

  2. Make the dough:
    In a mixer, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm milk, egg, and the prepared starter. Knead for 5 minutes until a dough forms.

  3. Add butter:
    Add soft butter and continue kneading for 10 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. First rise:
    Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 40–60 minutes until doubled in size.

  5. Shape the dough:
    Punch down the dough, divide into two parts, and let rest for 15 minutes. Shape each into a rectangle, then roll into a log and place in a greased loaf pan.

  6. Second rise:
    Cover and let rise again for 30–40 minutes until puffy.

  7. Bake:
    Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Brush the top with milk and bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown.

  8. Cool and serve:
    Let the bread cool slightly before slicing. Serve fresh.
