Quick Cheese Spring Rolls (Crispy & Creamy Appetizer)

A delicious appetizer with a crispy golden shell and a melted creamy cheese filling. Perfect as a snack or party starter, especially when served with sweet chili sauce.

🥣 Ingredients

  • 1 pack spring roll wrappers (frozen)

  • 1 cup cream cheese

  • 1 egg (beaten)

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (grated)

  • Sweet chili sauce (to serve)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Remove the spring roll wrappers from the freezer and let them sit for about 30 minutes until slightly thawed.

  2. Carefully separate the sheets and cover them with a clean kitchen towel to prevent drying.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk the egg well (this will be used for sealing the rolls).

  4. In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese and mozzarella until smooth and well combined.

  5. Take one wrapper at a time (keep the rest covered).

  6. Place it in a diamond shape and brush the edges with beaten egg.

  7. Add 1 tablespoon of cheese filling near the bottom part.

  8. Fold the bottom over the filling, then fold the sides inward and roll tightly upward.

  9. Seal well and repeat with remaining wrappers.

  10. Chill the rolls in the fridge for 20 minutes to firm up.

  11. Heat vegetable oil to about 180°C.

  12. Fry in batches until golden and crispy.

  13. Drain on paper towels or a rack to remove excess oil.

  14. Serve hot with sweet chili sauce.

🔥 Serving Tip

For extra crispiness, make sure the oil is hot enough before frying and avoid overcrowding the pan.
