Ingredients
4 cups milk
½ cup sugar (or to taste)
4 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon rose water (or orange blossom water, optional)
½ teaspoon vanilla
Crushed pistachios or shredded coconut (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
In a pot over medium heat, pour in 3 cups of milk and add the sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
In a separate bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in the remaining 1 cup of cold milk. Gradually add it to the pot while stirring continuously.
Keep stirring until the mixture begins to boil and thickens.
Add the vanilla and rose water, stir for another minute, then remove from heat.
Pour the mixture into serving dishes and let it cool slightly at room temperature.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until fully set.
Garnish with crushed pistachios or coconut and serve cold.
Tip
For extra flavor, you can add a layer of syrup or fruit on top before serving.
