Creamy Tahini Hummus for Suhoor

Creamy tahini hummus is a perfect Suhoor dish that provides a balanced combination of protein and healthy fats. This helps reduce feelings of hunger and thirst during fasting hours, making it a practical and delicious choice for a simple and nutritious Suhoor.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup boiled chickpeas

  • 3 tablespoons tahini

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 1 clove garlic, crushed

  • Ice cubes, as needed

  • 3 tablespoons water (chickpea cooking water)

  • A pinch of salt

  • A pinch of ground cumin

  • A pinch of paprika (or olive oil for garnish)

Preparation Method

  1. In a food processor, add the chickpeas, ice cubes, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and cumin.

  2. Blend until the mixture becomes smooth.

  3. Gradually add the chickpea cooking water until you reach a smooth, creamy consistency as desired.

  4. Transfer the hummus to a serving dish.

  5. Sprinkle paprika or drizzle olive oil on top for garnish.

  6. Serve with whole wheat bread or fresh cucumber and tomato slices.
