Google’s Upcoming Features: Smart Auto-Reply Messages and Automatic Meeting Sign-In

It appears that Google is planning to introduce a future feature for the Google Messages app that allows recipients to use an auto-reply service to interact with others on their behalf. However, messages will not be sent without the user’s approval, as Google will first confirm whether the user wants to send the reply as is or edit it. The new feature will include an editing option called “Tap to Edit.”

Google seems to be developing a series of features aimed at strengthening its presence in the tech landscape, especially alongside the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence tools. The company has already leveraged AI to enhance features related to Gmail, Siri updates, Google Search trend exploration tools, and most recently, automatic meeting sign-ins.

Auto-Reply Feature for Messages

According to the website 9to5Google, the new option expected to be added to Google Messages will allow users to rely on smart replies when they are busy or short on time. By tapping on smart replies, users can update a draft message quickly and efficiently.

The feature works by placing the suggested reply directly into the text field, allowing users to edit and customize it before sending. This approach is designed to reduce the risk of sending messages by mistake and gives users full control over the final content.

Google notes that this feature is not currently available. However, once released, it can be enabled easily by following these steps:

  • Open Google Messages Settings

  • Go to Suggestions

  • Enable or disable Smart Reply

Automatic Sign-In to Google Meet

In an official announcement published on the Google Blog, Google revealed the launch of an automatic sign-in feature for meetings on Google Meet. This feature aims to make joining important meetings easier while reducing audio echo issues. The app intelligently guides users to the best option for joining a meeting.

Once you make a sound, Google Meet smartly detects your presence in the room using ultrasonic wave signals. It then highlights the “Use Companion Mode” button before you join the call. With a single tap, you are automatically signed into the correct meeting room.

This innovation reflects Google’s continued focus on smart, user-friendly solutions powered by artificial intelligence.
