  • Vegetable oil: as needed (for frying)

  • Salt: ½ teaspoon

  • Black pepper: a pinch

  • Paprika: ½ teaspoon

How to Prepare Fried Sweet Potato Fries

Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into thin sticks or evenly sized long slices.

Soak them in cold water for 15 minutes to remove excess starch, then dry them well with a kitchen towel.

In a bowl, mix the sweet potatoes with salt, black pepper, and spices. If desired, lightly coat them with flour to add extra crispiness.

Heat the oil in a pan over medium to high heat.

Fry the sweet potato fries in batches until golden and crispy on the outside, about 5–7 minutes per batch.

Remove them onto paper towels to drain excess oil, then serve hot with your favorite sauce.
