Cooking Time: 60 minutes
Serves: 5 people

Ingredients

  • White toast bread, crusts removed: 12 slices

  • Butter: ½ cup (melted)

  • Fresh cream (qishta): 1 can

  • Cream cheese: 2 tablespoons

  • Sugar: 2 tablespoons

  • Vanilla: ½ teaspoon

  • Ground pistachios: 2 tablespoons (for garnish)

  • Sugar syrup: 1 cup (warm)

Preparation Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Brush the toast slices with a little butter, then cut them into small crumbs.

  3. Place the crumbled toast in a buttered baking tray and lightly toast until it turns a light golden color.

  4. In a bowl, mix the cream, cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.

  5. Divide the toasted bread into two portions. Press the first layer gently into the tray.

  6. Pour the cream mixture over the first layer, then add the second layer of toasted bread evenly on top.

  7. Drizzle the remaining melted butter over the surface.

  8. Bake in the oven for 10–15 minutes until the top is golden.

  9. Remove from the oven and immediately pour the warm sugar syrup over the dessert.

  10. Garnish with ground pistachios and serve hot or warm, as desired.
