Easy Date Molasses

Dates hold a special place for their rich nutritional value, containing a variety of vitamins and minerals. They are used in many ways, from traditional remedies to delicious recipes. One of the tastiest and most beneficial products made from dates is date molasses—a natural sweetener with many uses.

Ingredients

  • Dates: 4 kg

  • Water: 17 cups

Preparation Method

  1. Wash the dates thoroughly and remove the pits.

  2. Place the dates in a pot over medium heat, cover with water, and bring to a boil.

  3. Reduce the heat and let the pot simmer for about 3 hours, until the mixture turns mushy.

    Make sure the dates remain covered with water during cooking.

  4. Place a strainer lined with a clean cloth over a large bowl. Pour the date mixture into the strainer and press with your hands to extract all the liquid.

  5. Transfer the liquid back to the pot and simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, until it thickens into a syrupy consistency.

  6. Pour the date molasses into glass jars and store in the refrigerator.
