Meta Is Replacing WhatsApp for Windows with a Web-Based App

Meta is currently working on replacing its existing WhatsApp desktop application for Windows with a new version based on the WhatsApp Web interface.

A Beta Update That Changes the User Experience

According to a report by The Verge, the new beta update introduces a noticeable shift in user experience. The new interface feels less interactive and modern compared to the previous version, with more basic design elements and a downgraded system for managing notifications. Additionally, Meta has built this new version using Microsoft Edge WebView2, allowing it to integrate the WhatsApp Web interface directly into a desktop application.
