In a move aimed at improving user experience through personalization, WhatsApp has announced a new paid subscription plan called WhatsApp Plus. The service allows users to have greater control over the app’s appearance through a variety of customization options, including color changes, alternative app icons, and exclusive sticker packs that add a more personal touch to conversations.
Expanded customization features
The new paid plan, based on a low-cost monthly subscription model, targets users who want a more personalized experience within the app. It includes features such as changing interface colors, selecting different app icons, and accessing exclusive sticker collections.
Advanced chat management tools
WhatsApp Plus also introduces improved chat organization features. Users will be able to pin up to 20 conversations instead of the current limit of three. It also offers tools for grouping chats and applying settings across multiple conversations at once, along with unique call ringtones.
Privacy and gradual rollout
The company emphasized that subscribing to WhatsApp Plus does not affect user privacy, as all messages and calls remain protected with end-to-end encryption.
The service is optional and is currently being tested on a limited scale with Android beta users before a wider global rollout.
