🧾 Ingredients for Quick Pickled Turnips

  • Turnips: 500 g

  • Salt: 1 tablespoon (for soaking)

  • Salt: 4 tablespoons (for pickling brine)

  • White vinegar: ½ cup

  • Water: 2 liters (boiled and cooled)

  • Sugar: 1 teaspoon

  • Beetroot: 1 piece, sliced (for color)

  • Hot peppers: 5 whole pieces

👩‍🍳 Preparation Method

  1. Wash and peel the turnips, then cut them into thick slices.

  2. Place the turnips in a large bowl, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of salt, mix well, and let them sit for 30 minutes to release excess water.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix the cooled boiled water with vinegar, 4 tablespoons of salt, and sugar until fully dissolved.

  4. Drain the turnips from their released liquid.

  5. Add sliced beetroot and hot peppers to the turnips.

  6. Pour the pickling solution over the mixture, ensuring all pieces are fully covered.

  7. Transfer everything into a clean, airtight glass jar.

  8. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving. The flavor improves after a few days.
