Lebanese Kofta on the Grill (Kofta Lebanese Style)

Lebanese grilled kofta is a famous dish in the Arab kitchen, known for its delicious flavor and easy preparation at home.

Cooking Time: 60 minutes
Serves: 3 people

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef

  • 1 onion, finely chopped

  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper

  • Juice of ½ lemon

  • Olive oil, as needed

  • Lamb fat (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meat Mixture:
In a bowl, combine ground beef, onion, parsley, and lamb fat (if using).

  2. Season the Mixture:
Add cumin, black pepper, salt, and crushed red pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

  3. Add Lemon and Oil:
Pour lemon juice and a drizzle of olive oil over the mixture and mix thoroughly to distribute flavors evenly.

  4. Shape the Kofta:
Form the mixture into medium-sized fingers or logs of equal size. Optionally, thread them onto wooden skewers for grilling.

  5. Grill the Kofta:
Preheat the charcoal grill to medium heat. Place the kofta fingers on the hot grill.
Turn them occasionally to ensure even cooking and prevent burning.

  6. Cook Until Done:
Grill until the kofta is golden brown on the outside and fully cooked inside.

  7. Serve:
Serve hot with Arabic bread and your choice of salads or dips.
