Cooking Time: 60 minutes
Serves: 6 people

Ingredients for Classic Brownies

  • Butter: ½ cup (unsalted)

  • Chocolate: 1 cup (dark, chopped)

  • Sugar: ¾ cup

  • Eggs: 2 (large)

  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon

  • Flour: ½ cup

  • Cocoa powder: 2 tablespoons (unsweetened)

  • Salt: a pinch

  • Chocolate chips: ½ cup

Method

  1. Melt the butter and dark chocolate together using a double boiler until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  2. Add the sugar to the chocolate mixture and stir well. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing continuously.

  3. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.

  4. Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then gently fold them into the chocolate and egg mixture without overmixing (to avoid a cake-like texture).

  5. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.

  6. Pour the batter into a square pan (20×20 cm) lined with parchment paper.

  7. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the top is set while the inside remains soft and fudgy.

  9. Let the brownies cool completely, then cut into even squares and serve.
