Cooking Time: 60 minutes
Serves: 6 people
Ingredients for Classic Brownies
Butter: ½ cup (unsalted)
Chocolate: 1 cup (dark, chopped)
Sugar: ¾ cup
Eggs: 2 (large)
Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
Flour: ½ cup
Cocoa powder: 2 tablespoons (unsweetened)
Salt: a pinch
Chocolate chips: ½ cup
Method
Melt the butter and dark chocolate together using a double boiler until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Add the sugar to the chocolate mixture and stir well. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing continuously.
Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt, then gently fold them into the chocolate and egg mixture without overmixing (to avoid a cake-like texture).
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Pour the batter into a square pan (20×20 cm) lined with parchment paper.
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the top is set while the inside remains soft and fudgy.
Let the brownies cool completely, then cut into even squares and serve.
