Spanish churros are one of the most famous desserts in Spanish cuisine. They are easy and quick to prepare, made with ingredients found in every kitchen, and require very little effort. You can serve them with chocolate sauce.
Ingredients
For the Dough

Water: 1 cup

Butter: 2 tablespoons

Sugar: 2 tablespoons

Salt: a pinch

Flour: 1 cup

Vanilla: 1 teaspoon

Egg: 1

Vegetable oil: plenty (for frying)
For Coating

Sugar: ½ cup

Cinnamon: 1 teaspoon (ground)
For Serving

Chocolate sauce: as desired
Method

Place the water, butter, sugar, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil until the butter is completely melted.

Add the flour all at once and stir quickly with a wooden spoon until a firm dough forms.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and leave the dough for 5 minutes to cool slightly.

Add the vanilla and egg, then knead well with a spoon. At first, the dough may separate, but continue mixing until it becomes smooth and uniform.

Put the dough in a piping bag fitted with a medium or large star-shaped tip.

Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Pipe strips of dough directly into the hot oil, cutting them with kitchen scissors.

Fry the churros for about 4 minutes until golden and crispy on all sides.

Drain the churros on paper towels.

In a bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon, then coat the warm churros in the mixture.

Serve the churros with chocolate sauce.
