Mini Chicken Shawarma

Mini shawarma is one of the most delicious, quick, and easy recipes, perfect for all occasions—especially buffets and light gatherings. Its small size makes it ideal for serving, while its rich flavor is inspired by authentic Arabic shawarma. This recipe combines tender, well-marinated chicken with simple ingredients wrapped in soft mini bread, creating a creative and irresistible dish everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • Chicken breast: 500 g (cut into thin strips)

  • Yogurt: 1 cup

  • Lemon juice: 1 tablespoon

  • White vinegar: 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic: 3 cloves

  • Cloves: 3 whole

  • Olive oil: 2 tablespoons

  • Salt: 1 teaspoon

  • Black pepper: ½ teaspoon

  • Shawarma spice mix: 1 tablespoon

  • Paprika: ½ teaspoon

  • Turmeric: ¼ teaspoon

  • Cumin: ¼ teaspoon

  • Onion: 1 (thinly sliced)

  • Parsley: as desired (chopped, for garnish)

  • Mini bread or mini tortillas: 10 pieces

  • Pickled cucumbers: sliced

Preparation Method

  1. Finely mince the garlic with the cloves first.

  2. In a bowl, mix the yogurt, lemon juice, vinegar, garlic mixture, olive oil, and spices (salt, black pepper, turmeric, paprika, and cumin). Add the chicken strips and mix well for about 10 minutes until fully coated.

  3. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken without any extra oil.

  4. Let the chicken sear slightly, then stir and cook until fully cooked and nicely browned on all sides.

  5. Add the chopped parsley and sliced onion, then remove from heat.

  6. Open the bread, fill with the chicken shawarma, and add some pickled cucumber slices alongside garlic sauce if desired.

  7. Serve warm, accompanied by French fries.
