Beef Steak with Boiled Potatoes

A delicious family dish, rich and nutritious, featuring healthy ingredients like olive oil and potatoes.

Serves: 2 people

Ingredients

  • Beef steak: 2 pieces (400 g)

  • Potatoes: 4, cut as desired

  • Salt: a pinch

  • Black pepper: a pinch

  • Olive oil: 1 tbsp (plus extra for the steak)

  • Unsalted butter: 2 tbsp

  • Mustard: 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Boil the Potatoes:

    • Place the potatoes in a pot and cover with cold water.

    • Bring to a boil and add 1 tsp salt.

    • Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until the potatoes are tender.

    • Drain the potatoes.

  2. Cook the Steak:

    • Heat a skillet over medium heat.

    • Season the steak with salt and black pepper, then rub with olive oil.

    • Cook until browned, about 5 minutes per side.

    • Reduce heat, add butter to the skillet, and pour it over the steak once melted.

    • Flip the steak twice, cooking for 1 minute per side for finishing.

    • Transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest briefly.

  3. Cook the Potatoes:

    • Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in the skillet and sauté the boiled potatoes for 3 minutes per side.

    • Season with salt and pepper.

    • Mix in the mustard with the potatoes.

  4. Serve:

    • Slice the steak and serve with the mustard-coated potatoes.
