The popular instant messaging platform WhatsApp has announced the launch of a new feature called “Cover Photos” for user profiles. This new addition offers users greater flexibility in expressing their personal identity and enhances the platform’s visual appeal. The feature is currently available in the beta update version 2.25.32.2 for Android.

According to WhatsApp, users can now upload a photo from their device or take one directly to be displayed at the top of their profile page. The design resembles the cover photo feature found on other social media platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn.

Currently in Testing for Android
WhatsApp clarified that the new feature is still under testing in the beta version for Android, with plans for gradual rollout in future updates. It will include privacy options allowing users to choose whether the cover photo is visible to everyone or contacts only.
