Om Ali with Pistachios

Ingredients

  • Puff pastry dough: 1 pack

  • Eggs: 3

  • Milk: 4 cups

  • Sweetened condensed milk: 1 can

  • Almond flour: 2 tablespoons

  • Shredded coconut: 1 tablespoon

  • Almond extract: 1 tablespoon

  • Pistachios (whole): 3 tablespoons

  • Pistachios (ground): 2 tablespoons

  • Butter: 2 tablespoons (for greasing)

How to Prepare Om Ali with Pistachios

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F). Grease your baking dishes with butter.

  2. Prepare the puff pastry: Line a baking tray with parchment paper, spread the puff pastry sheets, and brush them with a beaten egg.

  3. Bake for 15 minutes until golden and puffed up.

  4. Prepare the milk mixture: In a bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, almond flour, shredded coconut, two eggs, and almond extract. Mix well.

  5. Assemble: In your serving dishes, layer pieces of baked puff pastry, sprinkle pistachios, and repeat with another layer of puff pastry.

  6. Pour the milk mixture evenly over the layers.

  7. Bake for 25 minutes until the top is set and golden.

  8. Garnish with ground pistachios and serve hot.
