Google Replaces Weather App on Pixel Watches with “Pixel Weather”

Google is replacing its existing Weather app on Pixel smartwatches with a new app called Pixel Weather. The original Google Weather app will gradually disappear from Pixel watches.

According to Mashable, any smartwatch running Wear OS 6 or later cannot download the original Google Weather app. However, watches running OS 5 or earlier can still install and use the old app.

What Users Should Know

  • Pixel watches on OS 6 or later: Users will automatically receive or be upgraded to the new Pixel Weather app. No action is required.

  • Other Android smartwatches on OS 6+: If the original Weather app is already installed, they can continue using it for the time being. Eventually, users may also be transitioned to Pixel Weather.
