  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup strawberry jam

  • ½ cup butter

  • 3 eggs

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven:
Heat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Make the dough:
In a deep bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and butter well until you achieve a sandy texture.

Add the eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Knead the mixture until you get a soft and cohesive dough.

  4. Chill the dough:
Divide the dough into two portions, then wrap each portion in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about an hour.

  5. Prepare the pan:
Grease a baking pan with butter. Roll out the first portion of dough and press it into the pan. Spread the strawberry jam evenly over it.

  6. Grate the second portion of dough:
Use a grater to shred the second portion of dough over the jam, covering it completely.

  7. Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until the Mabrousha turns golden and is cooked through.

  8. Serve:
Once done, remove from the oven and allow it to cool before serving.
