  • Cold water: ¼ cup

  • Salt: to taste

For the Salad:

  • Chicken breast: 500 grams (thinly sliced)

  • Olive oil: 2 tablespoons

  • Paprika: 1 teaspoon

  • Cumin: ½ teaspoon

  • Dried coriander: ½ teaspoon

  • Cinnamon: ¼ teaspoon

  • Black pepper: ¼ teaspoon

  • Lemon juice: from half a lemon

  • Salt: to taste

  • Lettuce: 2 cups (thinly sliced)

  • Cherry tomatoes: 1 cup (halved)

  • Bell pepper (any color): 1 (thinly sliced)

  • Red onion: ½ cup (thinly sliced, optional soak in cold water for 5 minutes to reduce sharpness)

  • Parsley: ½ cup (fresh, roughly chopped)

  • Bread: as desired (cut and toasted)

Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, mix the chicken slices with olive oil, paprika, cumin, dried coriander, cinnamon, black pepper, lemon juice, and salt. Toss well to coat the chicken evenly with the marinade.

  2. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably an hour or more to allow flavors to develop.

  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and stir continuously until fully cooked and golden brown. Remove the chicken from heat and set aside.

  4. In a large bowl, combine the sliced lettuce, cherry tomatoes, bell pepper, red onion, and chopped parsley.

  5. In a small bowl, mix tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt. Gradually add cold water while whisking continuously until the sauce is smooth and creamy.

  6. Add the cooked chicken on top of the vegetables, pour the tahini sauce over the salad, and gently toss to combine everything evenly.

  7. Garnish with toasted bread pieces and serve the Shawarma Salad immediately.
