Every Eid story for children carries a valuable lesson that they can learn from the story's protagonist. Eid is a celebration for all Muslims, both young and old, rich and poor, coming together as one. Encourage your child to spread joy and happiness on the faces of poor children, those in need, and friends and relatives. Below are Eid stories to teach children the etiquette of Eid and how to share the joy of Eid with everyone, as Eid is a time for joy for all.
The Family and Eid Etiquette
One beautiful morning, after the blessed month of Ramadan, the family gathered in preparation for Eid al-Fitr, thanking Allah for the blessing of completing the month of fasting.
Father: “Congratulations to my children who woke up early in preparation for the Eid prayer.”
Sumaya asked: “Dad, will I go with you to the Eid prayer?”
Father: “Yes, my dear Sumaya. On Eid, everyone goes to perform this great act of worship, as our beloved Prophet (PBUH) recommended.”
Khaled said: “I will get ready and wear my best clothes, inshallah.”
Sumaya replied: “I am very happy because I will go to perform the Eid prayer with you.”
Mother: “Come on, my children, let’s prepare together.”
Father: “Do you know, my children, some of the etiquettes of Eid?”
Sumaya: “We should wash and wear our best clothes, dad.”
Father: “Well done, Sumaya.”
Khaled: “I learned from my hadith teacher that we should go to the prayer ground by one road and return by another.”
Father: “Well done, Khaled. May Allah bless you.”
Mother: “One of the etiquettes of Eid is that we show joy and greet each other with Eid greetings. Praise be to Allah who blessed us with Islam and prescribed for us two Eids to celebrate every year.”
Sumaya: “The other Eid is Eid al-Adha.”
Mother: “Well done, Sumaya.”
After performing the Eid prayer and listening to the sermon, the family decided to visit a sweet shop.
Mother: “What do you think, Father Khaled, shall we buy some of these cookies?”
Father: “They really look nice!”
When the family returned home, the mother began preparing food and making sweets, while the father arranged the place and lighting. Khaled and Sumaya helped by preparing colorful balloons and delicious sweets. The family celebrated together and was very happy with this joyful Eid, thanking Allah for its arrival.
The Best Clothes for Eid
Once upon a time, there was a man and his wife who lived in a small house with their two children. The father worked as a porter, and the mother sewed clothes for others and bought what they needed with the money she earned. The father’s earnings barely covered their basic needs.
As Eid approached, the parents did not have enough money to buy new clothes for their children. The parents were saddened by their children's disappointment, but the mother thought of a solution. She had old curtains and decided to cut and sew them into a dress for her daughter and pants and a jacket for her son. When Eid came, the children wore their new clothes, and they were very happy. The clothes were unique and different from what other children wore, and the children were proud of their mother’s creativity.
Eid Gift for Both of Us
Eid arrived, and Ahmed and Fatima were excited. They wore their new clothes and received their Eid gifts from their father. Fatima said to her brother, “I want to go to the amusement park near our house.”
Ahmed hesitated but thought to himself: "If I don’t agree, Fatima will be sad at home. It's Eid, and it only comes once a year, so I’ll take her." At the park, Fatima enjoyed herself and kept asking her brother to let her play various games, until Ahmed realized his money was running out. He felt sad, thinking he wanted to buy a toy for himself.
Fatima said: “Don’t forget, my Eid money is still with me! You were the one spending, not me.” She gave her money to Ahmed, who then bought a toy train for himself and a doll for Fatima. They both returned home happy, knowing it was the best Eid day.
Eid Came!
One morning, Saja woke up feeling excited for Eid. She put on her beautiful green dress after taking a bath and was very happy wearing her new Eid clothes. The doorbell rang, and she hurried to open it. It was her father returning from the prayer. She asked him: "Has Eid arrived?"
Father: “Yes, my dear Saja, Eid has arrived.”
She looked outside before the door closed but didn’t see anyone. Then the doorbell rang again, and she hurried to the door. This time, it was her uncle and his children. Saja was very happy, but she still looked outside and didn’t see anyone else coming!
Then the doorbell rang once more. Saja ran to the door, thinking it was someone else for Eid, but it was her uncle with the Eid gift. Saja looked outside and heard footsteps approaching. It was her cousins, and soon the whole family gathered. They spent the day playing with the cousins, and by the end of the day, Saja said: “How wonderful Eid is! It’s the day when the family gathers, and we all feel the joy.”
The Eid and the Sick Child
Eid came, and all the children were happy. They woke up early, wore their new clothes, and went with their parents to the Eid prayer. They met friends and neighbors, exchanged greetings, and said Eid Mubarak. However, the children noticed that their friend Mohammed was missing from the prayer and saw his father praying alone.
The children went to Mohammed's father and asked, “Where is Mohammed?”
He replied sadly, “He is sick and can’t get out of bed.”
The children decided to visit Mohammed after the prayer to check on him and share the joy of Eid with him. They went to his house, bringing balloons, treats, and gifts. Mohammed was so happy to see his friends and neighbors entering with gifts and balloons.
Mohammed said: “Indeed, a friend is known in times of hardship, and the sick person feels happy with a visit.”
Mohammed’s parents thanked the children, saying: “Visiting the sick is a great reward with Allah. Your visit to Mohammed and your effort to bring him joy will be rewarded by Allah.”
Moral of the Story:
Don’t deprive your friends from the joy of Eid; a friend is a true companion in times of hardship.
