Total Time:

  • 60 minutes

Serves:

  • 6 people

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups flour
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup warm water
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1½ teaspoons salt

Instructions:

  1. Activate the Yeast:

    • In a deep bowl, combine ¼ cup warm water, sugar, and yeast. Stir well and let it sit covered with a clean towel in a warm place for about 15 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Make the Dough:

    • Add the flour, warm milk, olive oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix the ingredients by hand until the dough comes together.
  3. Knead the Dough:

    • Gradually add the remaining warm water while continuing to knead, until you get a soft, smooth, and cohesive dough.
  4. Let the Dough Rise:

    • Lightly grease the surface of the dough with a little olive oil. Cover it with a towel and place it in a warm place for about an hour, allowing the dough to rest and rise.
  5. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  6. Shape the Dough:

    • Once the dough has risen, divide it into 10 equal portions. Shape each portion into a small ball and roll it into an oval or rectangular shape.
  7. Roll the Dough:

    • Roll each piece of dough into a log or roll shape.
  8. Second Rise:

    • Arrange the rolled dough on a greased baking sheet, cover with a clean towel, and let it rest for about 30 minutes for a second rise.
  9. Bake the Panini:

    • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the panini bread is golden brown and cooked through.
  10. Serve:

  • Remove the bread from the oven, and serve it hot as a delicious accompaniment to your favorite dishes.

Tips:

  • For extra flavor, you can brush the panini rolls with a little olive oil or garlic butter after baking.
  • This panini bread is perfect for sandwiches, or served as a side with soups or pasta.
