Easy and Light Biscuits

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour: 240 g

  • Butter: 113 g (unsalted, cold, cut into cubes)

  • Powdered sugar: 100 g

  • Egg: 1 large

  • Vanilla extract: ½ teaspoon

  • Salt: a pinch

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients:
    In a large bowl, combine the flour, powdered sugar, and salt.

  2. Add the butter:
    Rub the cold butter cubes into the flour mixture with your fingertips until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
    (Cold butter helps create a light, crisp texture and prevents the dough from becoming chewy.)

  3. Add the wet ingredients:
    Add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix gently until the dough just comes together — avoid overmixing, or the biscuits may turn dense.

  4. Chill the dough:
    Shape the dough into a flat disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
