Ingredients – Meatballs in Sauce
For the sauce:
Vegetable oil: 1 tablespoon
Garlic: 2 cloves (minced)
Tomato juice: 2 cups
Tomato paste: 1 tablespoon
Salt: a pinch
Black pepper: a pinch
For the meatballs:
Ground beef: 500 g
Onion: 1 (finely chopped)
Egg: 1
Breadcrumbs: ½ cup
Mixed spices: 1 teaspoon
Salt: to taste
Black pepper: a pinch
Paprika: 1 teaspoon
Vegetable oil: 1 tablespoon
Preparation Method
In a bowl, mix the ground beef with onion, egg, breadcrumbs, mixed spices, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Shape medium-sized balls from the mixture.
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat and fry the meatballs until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
To prepare the sauce: in the same pan, add the oil and garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant.
Add the tomato juice and tomato paste, season with salt and black pepper, and let the sauce simmer until slightly thickened.
Return the meatballs to the pan, and cook them in the sauce over low heat for 15–20 minutes until fully cooked.
Pour the meatballs with sauce into a serving dish and serve hot.
