Meatballs in sauce are a beloved dish suitable for a special lunch or dinner. They are usually served as a complete meal alongside rice, pasta, or fresh bread. This recipe is simple and easy to prepare—try it to add a tasty touch to your table.

Ingredients – Meatballs in Sauce

For the sauce:

  • Vegetable oil: 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic: 2 cloves (minced)

  • Tomato juice: 2 cups

  • Tomato paste: 1 tablespoon

  • Salt: a pinch

  • Black pepper: a pinch

For the meatballs:

  • Ground beef: 500 g

  • Onion: 1 (finely chopped)

  • Egg: 1

  • Breadcrumbs: ½ cup

  • Mixed spices: 1 teaspoon

  • Salt: to taste

  • Black pepper: a pinch

  • Paprika: 1 teaspoon

  • Vegetable oil: 1 tablespoon

Preparation Method

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with onion, egg, breadcrumbs, mixed spices, paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  2. Shape medium-sized balls from the mixture.

  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat and fry the meatballs until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.

  4. To prepare the sauce: in the same pan, add the oil and garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant.

  5. Add the tomato juice and tomato paste, season with salt and black pepper, and let the sauce simmer until slightly thickened.

  6. Return the meatballs to the pan, and cook them in the sauce over low heat for 15–20 minutes until fully cooked.

  7. Pour the meatballs with sauce into a serving dish and serve hot.
